During my internship, I had the privilege of working alongside some truly talented and passionate professionals in the asset management industry. I can say without question that from day one, I was warmly welcomed into the team, and with the unwavering support of the whole office played a pivotal role in nurturing my growth and learning. I had the opportunity to dive into virtually every aspect of asset management, from conducting market research and analysing investment opportunities, to building a valuation model and working through portfolio construction. Throughout my time at Flagship, I was presented with unique challenges and learning opportunities. Thankfully, with the guidance and support of every member of the global equity team, I was able to embrace these challenges with determination and enthusiasm. One of the most rewarding aspects of this internship was being part of a team that truly values collaboration and career development. The open and inclusive culture at Flagship encouraged me to share my ideas, listen, and engage with absolutely everyone from analysts to senior portfolio managers and organisation management. Moreover, the emphasis on continuous learning was evident throughout my time at Flagship.

The internship at Flagship was not what I expected - in the best possible way. Not only was everyone incredibly friendly and welcoming, the internship was quite comprehensive, in that you learn about all the different moving parts that make the company work. The internship requires you to write an investment report and present your case to the global investment team. Even though you generally work on the report independently, everybody is always ready and willing to help you. The internship enables you to bridge the gap between theory and practice and I highly recommend it to anyone considering becoming an equity analyst.

I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness with which I was met at Flagship and the resources available to me. The one-on-one sessions with everyone in the office were fascinating and all analysts went the extra mile. I found the Internship to be a great learning opportunity. As an Economics Masters student, I thought I may not be cut out for finance, but Flagship changed that view!

My internship at Flagship turned out better than I could have expected as it is a very inclusive environment. I was fortunate enough to receive the same level of insight into portfolio management decisions as the equity analysts who work there and was able to learn so much from the helpful global investment team. I felt that I was able to improve my knowledge and skills every day of the internship. I left feeling that I know what it is to be a part of an investment team, what the responsibilities of an equity analyst are and what it means to work in the industry. I loved the challenge and the culture at Flagship.

In my internship at Flagship, I was able to fully put into practice what I have learnt at University. During the programme I learnt how to research and write an investment report on a multinational company. I really enjoyed interacting with the team, along with the challenge of writing a comprehensive investment report, and learning more about asset management. Everyone on the Flagship team is incredibly approachable, friendly and kind, while the programme itself is well structured. I would highly recommend this programme to anyone interested in asset management!

During my internship at Flagship, I expected to learning about what actually happens in asset management, the different roles and responsibilities and what goes into the decisions to make investments. Being able to speak to everyone at the firm made this possible. Above all, that was the most valuable experience I received. I really enjoyed the open door policy and appreciated the feedback from the global team regarding my report. The culture of the firm is very accommodating and helpful. I think that anyone with a dream of investing should pass through Flagship. The internship programme is elaborately planned and challenging enough to be beneficial to one’s career for the long term.

Interning at Flagship was one of the best learning experiences I’ve ever had. The internship allowed me to apply my knowledge gained at university in a practical and real-world way. The people at Flagship were all very welcoming and they were always open to answering my numerous questions. During the internship I learned how to analyse and research a sector from a global perspective, delved deeper into specific industries and subsequently identified and analysed companies within these industries. I enjoyed this experience a lot and I would encourage anyone who wants to gain an insight into the world of asset management to apply for this internship. Special thanks to the global team for supporting me every step of the way.

The opportunity to intern at Flagship is not one to be missed. I felt welcome straight away and right at home from the start. The ease of being able to talk to everyone by just walking up to them really made a big difference and allowed me to learn a huge amount just by having conversations and asking questions.

Firstly, I would like to once again thank Flagship for granting me the opportunity to be a part of their internship, making a special mention to the global investment team for much value added. Amongst many things, walking into an office space where everyone showed much interest and dedication to the work they do, and connected as closely as family would, is a picture that will stick for me. As someone for whom this was a first experience of being an intern, I had my own fears on whether this would be a success. Contrary to this, as much as I worked on a project requiring me to stretch myself to new knowledge, the expectations were clearly communicated and exceptional guidance was provided along the way, and thus, so much growth and learning was bound to happen. This was a perfect way to see how my theoretical knowledge from university fits into the bigger scale of things. To the future intern, embrace this opportunity!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for choosing me to be a part of your inaugural internship program. I found it to be a very enlightening program, as it really bridged the gap between the classroom and the industry. Of the many things I learnt about the company, the most important thing I learnt was that teamwork makes dream work. I found the open door policy to be quite refreshing and non-restrictive as it gave me the confidence to walk into everyone’s office and have a chat with them throughout two weeks. I would like to give a special thank you to the global investment team for answering my seemingly endless stream of questions as I have never had such an unlimited access to a high caliber team. Wishing you all the best as you continue to build Flagship!
